SimplYoga

SimplYoga was founded by Nathalie, an experienced Ashtanga yoga practitioner who was inspired by her travels in Asia. In Rishikesh, North India, she studied Hindu philosophy, where she also obtained her first Hatha Yoga 200RYT (registered yoga teacher diploma). Last year she successfully completed her 300h Vinyasa teacher training with 200RYT at AntwerpYoga. Today she delves into the 5 Elements, Meridian & Fascia Therapy of Yin Yoga and she aims to achieve a YIN YANG 200RYT here as well.

She wants to pass on her passion to everyone who, just like her, is looking for relaxation and balance in this busy Western society. Nathalie and her team offer varied classes such as Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Beginners Yoga and meditation.

What is Yoga ?

Yoga is an old discipline from India. It is both spiritual and physical. Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise and meditation. It helps to improve health and happiness.

Yoga is the Sanskrit word for union.

Patanjali was a pioneer of classical yoga. He defined yoga as "the cessation of the modification of the mind". (stopping changing the mind).

A person doing yoga will move from one posture (called asana) to another. For example, the "sun-salutation" contains 12 poses of asanas, one after the other, and is said to help balance body and soul. The "sun-salutation" is popularly known as "Suryanamaskar".

Why Yoga ?

Yoga increases mobility so that you can bring more ease to your movement and don't feel so stuck in your body. Physical activity increases the motility and mobility of the organs and muscles, allowing them to perform their natural detoxification process. Deep yogic breathing enhances the function of the lungs.

It helps you live in the present

Most of us spend the majority of our time thinking about the past or the future (regretting, worrying, planning), or checking out completely into the land of cell phones and social media. Many of the benefits of yoga stem from the ability to unplug and focus on what's going on in your body and in your life right now. Happiness can only be found here and now.
